Eco-vadis Silver Medal

Renewal of Silver status in 2023, despite the tightening of evaluation criteria. The Group ranks 11th out of the 100 companies audited regarding the themes of Environment, Social and Human Rights, Ethics and Responsible Purchasing.

Security

SNAM personnel are trained and duly authorized to handle hazardous waste and are fully aware of the danger of certain materials.

Operators have the appropriate tools and specific personal protective equipment (PPE) (gloves, masks, glasses, shoes).

Furthermore, SNAM has an internal ERIS (Environment, Industrial Risks and Safety) unit responsible for controlling and complying with safety rules. It also plays the role of safety advisor for operations relating to the transport of dangerous materials.

Fire risk management

Because “zero risk” does not exist, SNAM has equipped itself with means of prevention, detection and protection against fires on its processing sites.

PREVENTION and DETECTION

The staff is trained and knows what to do in the event of a fire. Fire alarm and scenario exercises are carried out at least once a year.

The storage conditions make it possible to distinguish the materials to be stored according to their dangerousness and to limit the spread to the entire stock in the event of a fire (span, fire-proof cabinet, etc.).

The installations are placed under the surveillance of teams permanently present 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

protection

Portable emergency extinguishing means (portable fire extinguishers for fire classes A, B, C and D) comply with the APSAD (Pleinary Assembly of Damage Insurance Companies) by obtaining the Q4 certificate.

In addition, SNAM is equipped with fire water recovery systems, which it is improving in anticipation of the expansion of its future activity.

Controlling fire risk is completely part of the company’s Health, Safety and Environment policy for which regular investments are made.
